But, hCG critics caution public about these bogus claims. First, just look at the meal plan. The hCG requires you to eat no more than 500-calories a day for close to 2 months. That means that you only have to eat so little per day. And for a lot of people, that is quite a restriction that is nearly impossible to achieve.

Furthermore, each day while you’re on the diet, you are required to inject yourself with the hormone. Each shot is not cheap; we’re talking about a lot of money here. Some people who have tried it say that it can cost up to $10,000 for the full 46-days.That also depends on where you buy your injections because of the physician’s rate and other factors.

If that is not enough to put you off the diet, here are some more information that hCG advocates don’t want you to know about. You see, if you severely restrict your calorie intake for long periods of time, most of the weight you will lose is just water weight, and not actual fat.

That is because glycogen, a molecule that is responsible for giving us energy, requires water for storage. We get glycogen from carbohydrates, and if you eat only 500-calories per day, that means that we only get so little carbohydrates in a day.
